  • 4/22 12:50 pm - Well told story of this young broadcaster. Nice job of interjecting B-Roll at appropriate times in the story, just wish you would have included some more natural sound in your shots at the ballpark. You cover a lot of different objectives and goals of his life in this piece, nicely done!
Judge 1

Positives: Nice job finding and using footage from when Sam was broadcasting in High School and College. Good job getting additional BRoll to help tell this story.

Improvements: Be careful about placing your interview subject with their back against a window - the sunlight hitting his hair/head is in consistent and can/should be blocked out. Try to find more, different, better ways to use natural sound at the ball park or in the booth.

Judge 2

Positives: Hugely compelling interviewee. Captured his commitment and excitement for his career. Good use of b-roll. Great shots of the ball park.

Improvements: Interview lighting is a bit flat. Framing is a bit tight at the top. The broadcast sound is a bit hot.

Judge 3

Positives: The interview subject has good energy. Good nat sot start at the beginning. (Though a tad too long)

Improvements: Not hearing nat sound...could use some nat sot pops to break up his narration. Could use more broll of him...camera following him...see him interacting with someone. I'm assuming there was no game when this was shot. More footage of him doing something other than announcing could have helped with the pacing. By just hearing his voice, the interview starts to sound like a run-on monologue.
