- 3/16 7:47 pm - Eleanor, I think you tackled a difficult subject because it was all in one location, your subjects generally all look the same, and you are most likely filming in a room with mirrors. I loved the concept, and made someone who knows nothing about ballet feel some of the anxiety that the dancers must feel. Some of the things I might suggest if you were redoing it is focus a little more on the instructor always giving out orders making the dancers feel like they must be perfect all the time, you kind of did it with the dancers saying again, but I would think the desire to please the instructor could also make a dancer very anxious (especially if it seems all the other dancers are getting it). I liked your use of music when the moments of anxiety were coming on, however the parts then that didn’t have music seemed longer than they were. I think if you bounced between a happy ballet song, to the anxiety driven music it would have made those moments of slipping in and out of reality more obvious. Like I said I think you did a great job of framing your shots given the limitations of your story, good job, edit a little tighter, get to you point quicker and I think it could be even better. I enjoyed it Eleanor, especially the twist at the end when another dancer started feeling the same insecurities.
- 3/10 11:03 am - Positives: Strong opening! Story really captures the stress experienced by the main character. Point of view shots are very effective. Areas for improvement: Lighting is a bit low, could use some adjusting or color correction; audio is a bit out of balance at times. Could have been more effective if it was a bit shorter.
