Documentary does a nice job of connecting everything starting with the woman who grows the sustainable foods in her yard to restaurants that offer these options. Interesting story. Visuals are well thought out an execute and pacing is appropriate and well thought out.

Positives: Nice job using music, beauty shots of the garden and interview to kick-off the theme of this piece. Good use of BRoll - there was no shortage of footage throughout.

Improvements: I would have liked to understand how all of the people interviewed ended up being connected. Does anything from "Community Garden" end up at French Market? Offering fresh options is nice and a common theme, but a narrative that literally takes this story from farm to table and all of the connections in between would have brought this story together. Be careful in your audio edits - some of the sound edits during the interviews were off by a few frames.

Judge 2

Positives: Appreciate the 'bug's eye view' and handheld camera work through the garden. Nice contrast (and use of L-cuts) with the interviewee. Nice pacing. Compelling story of farm to table that is accented by the use of hand held camera work. Innovative use of geographic mapping services and computer screen movement. Evocative.

Improvements: Opening titling seems a bit out of context - city skyscape. The text and animation do not fit the focus of the story. Focus on plants and later shots could be a bit more crisp. Not sure that the audio (music) really works to move the story forward.

Judge 3

Positives: Great broll. Professional looking camera work. Interesting topic. Good use of graphics.

Improvements: The piece needs to breathe a little more. The interview subjects are speaking so quickly they almost overlap. Some of the bites sound clipped at the beginning, especially the food journalist. Sounds like we are hearing her bite starting in the middle of a sentence. The video at the food market is so colorful, it's jarring when we see the expert sitting in her sterile looking white office. I realize that it is not always easy to schedule people to be where we want them to be, but if possible, it would have been less jarring to see her in a setting that went along with the subject of the piece.
