- 3/9 8:57 am - Good start. If you're going to use background music, make sure it transitions well. Sometimes, the music just cuts out. Also, try to match up the vibe of the music with the tone of what your covering. Fine Arts Student Goes Varsity was an interesting piece. I enjoyed this. Make sure your B-Roll cuts flow and make sense. In some areas, you cut to a different video, then cut back to the same video, then cut to the other video, back and forth and I didn't see a purpose to that. Work toward consistency in all audio levels. Swimming coach's mic is "hot" at the start and then drops on his 2nd cut. In rising lunch price segment, there is a L3rd for a WMTH reporter while someone is being interviewed as to whether they will continue to buy lunches. Was the interviewee the reporter of the segment. Interesting stories that pertain to your audience. Continue to work on using audio and video to tell clear stories.
- 3/3 5:39 pm - STORY: All stories were informative and entertaining.
SOUND: Studio audio was perfect. Football package wind was an issue and the audio mix in the diving team was not mixed well and was distracting. Music in the background was distracting.
CAMERA: All studio and packages shot were creative and well executed.
LIGHTING: No issues
TALENT: All reporters and anchors did a fantastic job and brought energy to each story.
- 2/24 12:22 pm - Pros: Nice job giving us a fun show open that showed some personality.
I like the pop culture news, well delivered and topical.
Sports covered a variety which is nice.
Cars package has very strong video. However, the story is just all soundbites edited together. Doesn't feel like any story is being told here.
Cons: Starting the show with a story on your own crew should try to be avoided.
The music seems very sad, not matching what we are seeing.
The audio levels are too high for a lot of the show.
The idea of fish out of water piece is good, just think the execution and the point of it could've been more clear. Feels like a skit somewhat.

Positives: Whats Up Westside was good
Fine arts package was compelling
Improvements: Music too hot on open
Pacing on Auto Show package was slow

Positives: LOVE your news open!
Creative tag out at the end of the car show package.
The entertainment segment was good. I think it's a good fit for the audience you have.
Good nat sound throughout the football package. Love the football nats and also the band nats!
A good number of reporters throughout the entire newscast. Really enjoyed each story they did.
Improvements: Why is the anchor sitting so far away from the graphic? Either zoom in more on the anchor, have the anchor move over or increase the size of the graphic. The shot looks strange.
Make sure to leave the graphic up the entire time she is reading the intro so if the viewer by chance caught the end of what she was saying, they would know what the story is about due to the graphic.
Watch the lighting on the first package. Sometimes just have the interviewee face as much light as possible. I know it can be hard in a dark room.
The anchor reading the entertainment segment needs to slow down and try to talk clearer. She was hard to understand.
If you don't have a graphic, why not move the anchor over to center him? It's strange to have him stand off to one side.
For the package with the football player and also the band player, make sure the audio is stable throughout. There were points where it was soft and others that were loud.

Positives: Good job on editing packages and using nats
Loved that you had a lot of students involved and submitting packages
Improvements: Very minor but when you have one anchor have a tighter camera shot on them.
I would've ended with sports or something lighter instead of the story about the price increase at the vending machine.
