  • 4/22 11:37 am - Explore different ways to execute moving shots - the stabilization can distract the viewer.
  • 4/22 11:35 am - Pros - Lots of use of artificial lighting setups; this is definitely a challenge to master and you took a lot a risks in doing so. Mixed lighting setup in the opening shot was handled quite well in maintaining a consistent exposure between inside and outside. The sequence of shots beginning at 1:11 was a nice display of high-key contrast, which added nice stylization to the piece. Cons - This piece lacked variety. There was a lot of similarity in the stronger shots (which is good to know your strengths) and the same flatness issue to many of the exterior day shots. The compositions did what they could to add depth but the lighting worked against you. There was a definite theme of seeing lots of CU follow shots. It's hard to convey dynamic emotion by staring at the back of your characters' heads and keeps the viewer stagnant emotionally.
