Judge 1

Positives: You had some inventive and creative camera angles and camera moves that worked well. (the fight scene, 5:44, 5:55) You had a strong and emotional story here that is very heartfelt.

Improvements: There are several technical issues throughout that could be improved. There are light stands in shots, bad focus, and lighting that doesn't feel natural. I understand that you have to work with the resources you have but unfortunately the fact that the mom and the cop really don't look age appropriate really takes you out of the film and breaks the illusion of reality

Positives: TRT 6:09 I have to admit, I almost disqualified you for the time, because your file length runs 12:06. You're lucky I went back in and actually checked. 1:15 good acting moment 3:34 interesting lit fight scene and choice to shoot it in long takes without much editing. Brave choice!

Improvements: 0:14 I get what you're trying to do with the digital zoom. It works, but it could be smoother. 2:03 Again, I understand you're working with what you have. But it's hard to take this seriously with teens playing adults. I would be interested in seeing a cut in which you reshot these scenes with properly casted adults. Positives: I like the lighting in the office and it does a good job of setting the mood for that scene, The story is well crafted and the actions of the actor helps to tell it effectively. I like the use of the security guard in this film. Even though it is a minor part at first it is well set up for the ending. Good job with writing this character into it.

Improvements: The audio is a little bit all over the place. Make sure that the taken has a mic near them to help remove the echo from the audio. It is also important to watch the continuity because there scene with him walking down the hall he starts walking one direction then the next shot he is heading the other direction. Also, watch the position of your lights because the stands are in the way for the fight scene. This is a distraction for the viewer. Make sure you look at the little things because there would not be police lights inside the gym, so having them would not make any sense the cars would be outside of the gym
