  • 4/23 11:30 am - I love the use of the sugar cubes in this project and how you animated them to show the amount of sugar in each drink. This created a shocking realization for your viewers! Your shots were well executed and well timed to the music. I loved the natural audio used the first shot of the soda bottle opening. I wanted to see a more "jazzy text" for this project. The music and concept are so fun, but the text seemed very simple. I would have liked you to play around more with your fonts. Otherwise, this was a very strong PSA!
  • 3/7 10:37 pm - Good representation of the amount of sugar (actually high fructose corn syrup) in the drinks. But, what should they do with this. Do you want them to drink less? Drink something else? Just know what is in it? Good lighting and camera work.

Positives: The music and cuts to the music added significantly to the piece. The overall pace and shot choices, coupled with the graphics and visual displays conveyed the message in a quick and concise manner.

Improvements: Some of the close up logo shots were a little darker than the remaining shots. Fanta was shown at the start in the logo shots but then Tropicana was shown in the pour shot, leading to a slight inconsistency.

Judge 2

Positives: Love your idea of illustrating the amount of sugar clearly with the cubes. And animating them made it visually interesting. Good choice of music.

Improvements: A different color background or different lighting might have helped the cubes to stand out more. - could maybe have added a few more angles of the cubes animating (like a XCU and CU in addition to your WS). More sfx would have added some variety to the soundtrack.

Positives: Very professionally done. All technical aspects are extremely well done. Loved the stop motion. Also loved how you kept it simple.

Improvements: Possible use of a narrator may help. Close to perfection!
