Judge 1

Positives: Fun story with some good comedic beats. Clever editing in the transitions between scenes especially with the music and the absurd helmet that the lead character is wearing while biking.

Improvements: Although the transitions between scenes had clever editing, the editing in general needed to be tightened up more. Shots hang a little too long at points or there are just awkward pauses that could have eliminated either through editing or directing the scenes better. Overall is just felt like the pacing was a bit sluggish. The motivations of the characters was unclear. I know its a short comedy but I was questioning a lot of what the characters were doing especially the lead. My biggest example is the fact that he is breaking up with his girlfriend at the end despite showing no sign of that earlier. It just felt like something that was thrown in there for a laugh but it just struck me as odd not funny.

Improvements: 0:59 this sequence should start with lead character receiving the call, it's his story, so it should start from his pov. also, you can cut the out if focus part out from the beginning of the shot. 0:14 center frame and eyelines don't really work in this sequence. Judge 3

Positives: Strong concept! I like that you work with an idea that a lot of students face and you make it funny at the same time. The lighting is strong during the project. There is some solid comic relief in this as well which helps to cut the tension. Good use of sound effects as well. I like the camera work on this as well, well framed and in focus.

Improvements: There is no real need for the VO, I get why it is there, but make it clear prior and then it is not needed. There are a couple of scenes where the lighting is not solid. Work on that to make it even stronger.
