This trailer takes you on the journey of our main character who thrives in the gray zone of morally objective actions. Will he survive? Will his plans stay in order, or fall into chaos? Who knows, streaming on Netflix January 1st. Music - Discoveries (a) Music obtained from APM music library, all rights to use Discoveries (a) permitted by the library.
Positives: Has some nice shots throughout. Music has a nice bittersweet quality that seems to match the tone of the film.
Improvements: Its unclear from the trailer what the film is about. There is a lot of "poetic" voiceover but it doesn't explain at all what is going on. It would be ok if the visuals more accurately showed what the story was but all I can get from the trailer is a vague conspiracy driven thriller. Needs more explanation. The trailer needs a better pacing. The pace is one note throughout the whole trailer. There needs to me more of a sense of tension building throughout. Positives: "Eden" features beautifully lit environments, and dynamic camera movement. Its visual language works well for its intriguing premise.
Improvements: Occasionally, there are a few hiccups with camera movement that break the polished flow of the piece. Narratively, it also feels slightly too "vague" despite its intention to create a mystery.
Positives: The personality and job of this character is evident and the writer has gotten the point across. Good switching of shots since it's one character to focus on - it added to the mood of the video
Improvements: I was a bit confused about someone breaking in and he merely sits there like he expects it. The trailer immediately hits you with a lot of words. I maybe would have done a long standing mysterious shot off the top to let the viewer take in more about this guy before we ever hear a word about him.
