  • 4/29 1:31 pm - Funny concept, especially with the family shorts, really cool use of the family working together. Love the big at the beginning but each joke could use some more set-up to push the conflict. Nice shots but moving the camera closer for reaction shots helps push the comedy and the emotion of the character. Nice work!
  • 4/27 10:26 am - Successful - This is the perfect film to make during quarantine. It captures the time in lots of great details and I'm sure it's all based on real situations with your family. It feels very relatable and personal. Good editing overall. Needs Work - The structure felt a bit random, and the recurring title sequence didn't really work. Sometimes the humor feels more like in-jokes, or the humor is not as funny as it might be to your family. The Princess Bride scene is funny, but way too long.
  • 2/22 12:37 pm - Funny approach to the pandemic and how to cope. Good montage of getting ready for going out, good use of music and pacing.

Positives: The quick cut vignettes are a nice technique to add interest The choice of music track helps propel the edit in a fun way

Improvements: The film lacked cohesion between vignettes and ended too abruptly - it might have been nice to have a broader statement about bonding with your family during Covid, and all the ways you helped one another and grew as a family.

Positives: I really enjoyed the sequence of everyone putting on their quarantine gear for the movie There's a lot of story being told visually with sparsely placed dialogue. I really liked that. Also some great editing at work here. On a separate note, there are an astonishing amount of scissors in that house!

Improvements: I was thinking maybe there could be some sort of little tag on the end, to tie everything up in a bow. Just a couple seconds of something not related to the "cutting your own hair" intervention. (very funny idea by the way, and I especially appreciated the sign) But it's possible you're still making these as a series of shorts. I hope that's the case! Great job getting the whole family involved. This was a lot of fun!

Positives: A humorous series of vignettes--definitely brings in the teenage point of view and lampoons parents

Improvements: This may require the audience to have experience with the pandemic and lock-down--so the humor may not translate forward in time--but it is funny in the here and now
