Judge 1

Positives: Really enjoyed the package about the student featured on Ellen. All the packages were edited well

Improvements: Instead of saying "xxx reports" be a little more specific when you toss to the package. example: xx shows us how one student is helping others Instead of hearing the student tell us about her funny line "Pay it backwards" - I would've played the nats from the actual video When saying a website in a package it is also helpful to put it on the screen too.

Judge 2

Positives: -The Bloopers is a fun idea! Loved seeing the human element behind the TV host. Viewers love that kind of breaking the 4th wall. -The news packages are all very well put together and in the exact order I would show them as well. That Pay it Backward Ellen Degeneres story is a super cool one! I am ready to buy a bracelet! I like the message these stories told and the overall positive vibe of the show.

Improvements: -I think the voice over from reporters needed a little more oomph. This is something that takes forever to really be good at, but a little more energy on the voice over can change the story as a whole. These are fun topics, and the voice should match. -I wouldn't use a stick mic for the lead anchor. She is standing in a cool spot. Maybe give her a lapel and the ability to talk with her hands or add some motion into those shots. Overall she did a good job hosting the show. I think it can go another level up with a little more diversity on the host shots.

Positives: -Good opening music sequence -Loved the local story, nice job! Feels relevant to the viewer -Great anchor energy with clear delivery in the "field". It also shows creativity adjusting to news in a COVID era. -Good interview framing in second package and good mix of shots -All of the packages were very informative which is very important! -I like that sports was added into the newscast because it gives the viewer a good variety and is similar to current local newscasts -Nice job on the graphics!

Improvements: -I'd love to see longer introductions to packages. It helps a viewer know what story they're about to see when you provide a little bit more context. -Audio editing is so tough and a huge challenge. I think the first package had a bit harsh audio cuts. Make sure to fade background audio and interview audio in and out to prevent any jarring sounds to a viewer.
