Live dance performance excerpt from the 2021 Maine South V-Show.
Positives: Great use of different camera shots. I'm glad you were able to have a wide shot, a close shot and a medium shot. It really helped tell the story when you had the close shot on her face when she was showing emotion. I also felt like you used the right shot at the right time, when she was moving across the floor, you used the wider shot.
Improvements: Be careful with your shots, when she was close a few times her hands were cut off or the camera wasn't moving as fast with her. Don't be afraid to switch between cameras more.
Positives: Really nice job with this. Audio sounded great, and the camera angles were really nice. The viewer was really able to connect with the dancer -- the shots were tight and clear, and the edits were appropriate. The mid shots were great to give perspective and came at the right moments.
Improvements: I would have liked a few more mid/wide shots at times. There were a couple and they were powerful to see her leap, etc. A few of the tights were a bit too tight -- the framing was tricky/her head was almost out of the shot. It can be hard to shoot dancing!
Positives: Composition was great for the most part. As a director, knowing which camera you should have live is key, and you did a great job on that. I feel like the camera changes were at the appropriate pace to match the speed of the music. Over all, Great Job!
Improvements: Not all of the camera colors matched. Before you do a live show you always need to make sure cameras match so it will not be a distraction to the people watching. Sometimes one one of the tight shots the head would go out of frame of the camera, I always try to not let that happen.
