A portion of Maine East High School's annual V-Show, featuring Senior Dancers performing to the K-Pop hit, "Killing Me."
Positives: Loved the drone work, it really added a nice touch to this song and the dancers. Also thought the transitions between the cameras worked well during the piece.
Improvements: Don't be afraid to show their faces. That helps tell the story. Even if they have masks on, you're able to see their reaction and emotion in their eyes. There are times when some of your camera shots are out of focus. Also, sometimes your wide shoots are too wide and I feel should be tighter.
Positives: WOW!! Nice job!! The drone was fantastic! Great use of it. Loved the overhead shots, loved what appeared to be jib-type shots. Really fantastic job.
Improvements: Your cool shots showed some of your gear at a couple of points. Ideally you would have shot the dance a few times and been able to move your gear for those shots and edit it all together, but I am not sure if that was even a possibility since this was part of a variety show. Ideally, you never show your gear! The front wide shot felt a tad too wide for me... would have tightened it up a bit.
Positives: I loved the opening drone shot. The coordination between the song and the camera cuts was done very well. You didn't say on any one shot to long which helps keep interest in watching the video.
Improvements: On the opening drone shot you need to remember to start the movement before you the shot. You need to color match the cameras before you do a live recording. Having each camera match reduces distraction from what is being presented. Watch shots with drone shadows and shots with camera operators in them. People see that stuff and stop focusing on the subject and start looking at the other stuff.
