Positives: Awesome job editing the packages - they were well done and I can tell you put a lot of time into them. I liked that I saw a lot of students featured in your newscast - I felt like the pieces gave them a voice.

Improvements: I don't know that I would've included the district employee in the capitol riot package that didn't want to be identified. That portion felt a little jarring and unnecessary Be conscious of how long your stories are running. I felt some of them could've been shortened and been just as effective.

Positives: -Great job with the story blocking and order choice. The Senior Shout Out is an incredible and fun idea for a kicker to a newscast. And the rant segment was a fun and different idea as well. Great soundbites. Followed by cinnaholic to wind down the up beat angsty story. It worked really well! -You covered some extremely challenging topics and did an excellent job shedding backstory and light to what was happening such as the storming of the Capitol.

Improvements: -I think the reporting (although in my own opinion hit the nail on the head) came off a bit bias or one sided when talking about the Trump rally. I think it is good to hear every person you had in that story, you just need one person saying the other angle and this story didn't have that. Viewers in a newscast will blow up about this type of thing. I do think you presented all facts, but having someone who may even support trump have a quote in there could help. I don't think you need anyone supporting the raid on the capitol. Just another view of the situation as a whole. -Maybe you did this for timing sake, but the transition from story to anchor to story etc was too quick of a cut and it was a bit jarring as a viewer. Maybe a little more room to breathe on transitions could be helpful and less startling.

Positives: -Great opening music sequence -Loved the graphics used throughout and the production value felt high -Awesome host energy -Nice job trying to tackle tough issues right away and including good historical context and inclusion of local voices -The sports and clubs package had a great variety of video used. -Really great creativity when visuals are a challenge using graphics, text on screen, etc. -Love the rant! People love watching user generated content in news! very very well edited together -The senior shoutout was also awesome.

Improvements: -I think the package about the insurrection didn't need music. I think it was a great effort working it in and I think the music track picked worked. But packages don't always need music and you have to be careful. Music can subliminally invoke emotion in a viewer when watching a story, and its best with political-related packages to sometimes keep them straight-cut without music. That being said, I think it still worked here and made the piece move and flow. -I'd love to hear a bigger lead-in to stories than just one line. They're tough to write, so it'll be a challenge! But it helps the viewer to have greater context about what they're about to see before heading into the story. -Very nitpicky small adjustment that could be made, but in the cinnaholic package, I wouldn't have "jump cut" between two interview bites from the same person. It's jarring for a viewer. It's best to either cover the cut with some video or use a white flash.
