Positives: You have an intriguing premise that hooked my interest and made me wonder what was going to happen. Overall your trailer builds the story well from beginning to end.

Improvements: Although the overall arc of the story is clear, the pacing on your trailer needs work. There is nothing to really grab your interest from the beginning. You need more sound design and more interesting shots to catch interest from the beginning. The visuals don't need to match what the voiceover is saying exactly but rather set a mood and tone. The mood and tone right now is unfortunately mundane. With that being said, I think the editing also need to be a bit quicker in order to generate more interest, we're hanging too long on shots that don't really need to be seen for that long.

Positives: "Her" utilizes impressive editorial technique and effective light/color to reflect the stranded protagonist.

Improvements: During the first part of the piece, I would recommend placing some sort of sound design during the silences on the phone call. Maybe dog barks, or panting, to further heighten the suspense?

Judge 3

Positives: The part where the phone goes dead was a great way to wrap things up. It was an interesting choice to not hear the dad in this case but it worked. Many people can relate to similar conversations but with this particular story, you instantly know there's more than meets the eye.

Improvements: I was bit confused if she was turning into a kind of monster, doing this to herself, or what the case may be for the overall storyline. It rather dramatic but we never saw that drama until the very end. Maybe think about weaving it a little bit throughout?
