After collecting LGBTQ+ stories from BHS students, their stories were compiled into a video in order to bring awareness to the experiences classmates have gone through when dealing with pride.

Props to your school to working to actively support LGBTQ+ members and I hope this piece will help develop empathy among students, staff and community members. We all have a lot of work to do. The interviews and the shot you created were compelling. Improvements: As strong as this story is, the visual component of this documentary isn't strong enough. I understand why, as you have explained it at the top of the piece. For this reason, it probably belongs as a podcast. That's how it plays. Visually, it just needs more. Why not film some broll of students in the hallways or in different scenarios to serve as visual transitions between stories? Perhaps BHS is still completely virtual but this would be a nice simple idea to create some added visual heft.
- 4/15 1:41 pm - Very unique and effective way to tell these important stories and still keep the anonymity of the subjects. I was compelled by each story and in many cases the disturbing experiences these students have gone through. Well done and well thought out!
- 3/10 3:29 pm - Definitely a different style of documentary but it tells a very important story and I respect and appreciate you for allowing these people to tell their personal truths. The interview has it sets up his beautiful however I would have liked to see much more b-roll play on top of this. I do think there was an opportunity to have a little bit more of a visual effect for this as the way it is now it almost reads and feels like a podcast and not an actual documentary film.
