  • 4/30 9:11 am - I liked the story, but I was expecting more of a twist. The cinematography was very ambitious. You clearly have a solid grasp of camerawork, movement, and shot selections. Some shots were a bit shaky or out of focus. You have so much variety, which certainly demonstrates your skills. Next time, I would suggest being a little more selective. Especially for a montage edit, there is no reason to include any shots you aren't in love with. Overall, solid acting, narration, and direction. Back to what was said with cinematography. Allow yourself to be more selective with the shots you choose for a montage. You have so many great shots, lean on them and cut the rest. You certainly have a strong grasp of the basic tenets of editing. The narration's audio had so much popping with the "p's." This was likely caused by the narrator speaking too close to the mic. So much is going well with this, but you are missing something in the story to make it really pop.
  • 3/10 8:28 am - Copyright Information? Nowhere did you credit where your music came from. Music is so dramatic at the beginning, and is so brilliantly synced with the video but then just awkwardly drops suddenly before the narration begins. I got tired of hearing the word Her, it was too much Love the 360 camera shot at 1:30 Where has she been, I don’t get it and then it just ends. Did they break up?, did she die? The absence of her (a picture, flashback, etc) from your video made me second guess that it had nothing to do with a girl, and instead was a metaphor for Corona (he was trapped in the four walls, didn’t get out right away, and then took the mask off at the very end). It was hard to know what you were trying to say because you never gave me any visual clues. Just a guy pacing in his room and walking in the community. Footage didn’t seem to fit with the spoken word, it could have been swapped with a lot of other text, don’t believe me, pretend you are listening to a medication commercial about how the medication will allow you to get out and live life. There seems to be so much emotion in the text and narration, but I don’t feel the video keeps up with that same level of emotion, it just seems like a cinematic reel put to a nice poem. You had some beautiful shots, I just never saw the synergy between the narrative, and the visuals.
