  • 4/29 4:11 pm - Pros - A number of shots (0:13, 0:33, 0:40-43, 0:58, 1:14, 1:18) demonstrated good use of lighting, composition, and focus to capture and/or direct the viewer's attention in a meaningful way. They also showed good use framing and blocking to convey meaning through your imagery. Cons - As a whole, the reel felt very uneven. There were a number of strong shots intercut with shots that were overly shaky, lacked a clearly defined subject, and that struggled with exposure and/or focus (:03, :08, :20, :27, :43, :47, :52, :54, 1:06, 1:10, 1:22). Don't be afraid of using a tripod for longer focal length shots and really scrutinize the quality of your own shots to produce more consistency.
  • 4/6 1:02 pm - You had some great shots when you focused the audience's attention using light and focus, but there were far too many that wandered, shook, or didn't account for the natural or artificial lighting you were shooting in. The edit felt random and disorganized, leaving the viewer confused especially at the end with the effect and long shot of the waves.
