Filmed and edited by students for our chapel service that we have to stream live to every classroom within the school (in place of gathering as an entire student body)
Positives: Great job adding the photos to the story he was telling. Really helped me as a viewer follow along and engage in the story. I appreciated you left him on the screen telling the story why showing those photos because that made it personally. Also, loved the pan you had of the room, showing the people he was talking to.
Improvements: Show more closeups of his face talking. Also, don't be afraid to show the crowd listening and even engaging in his speech. That also helps the storyline. At the beginning I was worried it was going to feel like a long piece, but the pictures really helped speed it up, so don't be afraid to add more of those to help tell the story.
Positives: Good close up shots of the speaker. Nice relationship shot with the interviewer.
Improvements: The first pan was a bit too slow and then never landed. Meaning, you dissolved into your next shot while still panning the first. In most cases it visually is more pleasing for your viewer to have a pan stop before you move on to another shot. Could have used a few more relationship shots with the audience. Would have like a tighter look at some of those great photos from his European trip.
Positives: Composition on the shots were good. Not to much or to little head room. Typically I would say don't do fades on camera transitions for an interview but it seemed to work pretty good. Use of graphics as well as the Picture In Picture at the same time was a very nice touch.
Improvements: The opening shot was a pan of the room that didn't stop on the subject. I think the pan should have stopped on the subject or the cut should have been sooner.
