• 4/29 6:01 pm - My students enjoyed the humor in this commercial. When he stops in the kitchen and looks back at the bowl was hilarious to me. Nice story and tongue-in-cheek. I think that incorporating the popcorn a little bit more and the chess a little less would give it the right balance.
• 2/25 12:06 pm - Great looking commercial with very nice product shots. Overall I do think there's too much time spent on the chess game and not enough on the actual product. There also seems to be some issue with the audio and what channel is coming out of. Make sure you look over all the mix. The product a few more times in the commercial.

Judge 1

Positives: I liked the simple narrative and the play on words. Your story was energetic and humorous. The sound quality was great which helped elevate the piece. The camera work was fun and fit the town of the project and the editing was entergetic.

Improvements: I'd be cautious about promising a product can do something it can not, even in jest. Red Bull can't give you wings but did receive a class action lawsuit. The lighting was a bit harsh, almost blown out at the edges, perhaps the initial footage needed to be filtered differently or white balanced.

Judge 2

Positives: Nice cohesive edit Clear POV in story line Edit resolves nicely

Improvements: Be careful not to overstate the benefit of the product - it will back fire and cast doubt. In this case, rather than implying the food actually made the player smarter, it may be better to imply that he performs better when he's had a snack and is not playing on an empty stomach. The lighting and the sound were both a little rough in this edit - could be polished.

Judge 3

Positives: Great story and edit. Love the changes in pacing you bring about through internal rhythms and music editing. Love the dolly shot at the open - might have been nice to see one more during the second half? I chuckled a few times, too. Good performances and writing here.

Improvements: Nicely shot, but the lighting is a little flat with some clipped highlights. Better than being too dark, for sure, but some areas of shadow in the room might add to the drama.
