  • 4/26 11:19 am - Keepers: Very interesting story about participating in a choir in communist Romania. Your interview shot was well framed and bravo on the captioning. That's a lot of work to do. The photos were well chosen. Improvements: The photos you used needed to be on screen longer and for different periods of time. The editing felt too mechanical and patterned. When you show us a photo, have a solid reason for showing it and let it linger a while...especially when you only have one storyteller at your disposal. Different music choices were needed. The song is fine, but how about finding some music sung from the choir itself? If none exists, how about finding music from a Romanian Choir? Let us hear that style of music that's being discussed. As for captioning, make sure it's in title safe. Ask Ms. Orr about this. This is a good foundation. Keep working!
  • 4/15 1:36 pm - Very compelling story intermixed well with various B-Roll. Editing is a bit sloppy though. I counted 14 flash frames throughout this piece which is 14 too many. Some of the edited clips are jittery too. I appreciate the willingness to caption her words and convey her story but overall this needs more work.
  • 3/10 3:18 pm - What a cool story that you've told here. As if you were I was definitely interested in the story that was being told and I think you did a fantastic job with the pictures on the screen to help enhance the message. I would like to have seen more of a variety of shots throughout the piece maybe even setting the interview in a different setting. A second camera would have helped also make the interview a little bit more dynamic. There's a lot of different ways you can play with moving images as well and I would encourage you to seek out some things like The Parallax effect.
