- 4/26 11:29 am - Keepers: Such a great piece and story. On a personal note, one of my last "date" nights with my wife, pre-pandemic was to the Chicago Magic Lounge. It was such a cool experience. The interviews your captured coupled with the broll you sourced and filmed yourself all weaved together very well. But what sets this apart from many other documentaries in this competition is your use of pacing and transitional moments. Great job changing up music and sounds to cue a transition and change the mood/location of your story. Great work!

- 4/15 1:37 pm - This was very well done! I love the many voices you captured throughout this piece as well as the visuals that accompanied it. Yes some of this was professionally shot and should have been credited but the weaving in and out from the different magicians throughout the country with the host who also performs magic was seamless and extremely well constructed. Tremendous job!
- 3/10 3:21 pm - What a polished documentary you have here. I love the story and I love that it's personal to you. Your voice over and you're delivery is amazing. Right from the get-go your energy grabs the viewer and brings them in. You balanced talking head with the beer all very well and I appreciate the amount of footage that you were able to find to put over your interviews.

Positives: A wonderful unknown story about the life of a magician and, the interesting and compelling way magicians have pivoted online.
Good use of maps to provide us with a sense of location. Good use of VO, interviews with magicians, and images/video to show us what magic shows are all about.
Fun and compelling. Good pacing that captures a bit of the feeling of being in a live audience.
Improvements: Only one suggestion, I wish the commentator was a bit better lit.

Positives: Great use of existing b roll footage and stock footage. It was awesome to see a student get interviews with experts from around the continent.
Improvements: Overall a very solid outing.

Positives: Very nice use of footage and maps!
The interviews were very candid and informative. I found I learned something from each!
Improvements: Off the top - the use of "Natural Sound" (from a magician) or a 5-10 second musical montage might help engage the audience faster! For instance - your choice at 3:29 of Nat-Sound Footage may have been an excellent way to kick off this piece.
