• 4/29 1:33 pm - Some nice shots, the edit at the end was executed really well. While the noir style was executed pretty well, the humor is so dark, but only in parts, that it feels a bit abrupt. I would suggest more jokes of that nature, one after the other, to really emphasize the character’s ignorance and callousness.
• 4/27 11:25 am - Successful - Cool shots and style. Good costuming choices. Needs Work - The voice-over was a little over-acted. Interesting idea to combine film-noir and western, but it didn't quite work to mash the genres. The ending was disappointing.
• 2/22 1:28 pm - Good pacing and voiceover. I like the use of black and white and variety of shots, depth of field etc. I was a little confused as to where everything was leading until the abrupt ending.

Judge 1

Positives: Good framing! Good use of rack focus. Nice choice of edit points. Nice track.

Improvements: The voice over detracts from the quality of the film and the narrative - a voice that was not over done or trying so hard would improve the edit. I found the ending confusing - there was not enough in the story or the voice over to foreshadow the abrupt death of the hero, or make that rewarding to the viewer (ie, karma, justice..... etc.)

Judge 2

Positives: Great use of that film noir feel. The black and white looked great. I particularly appreciated the shot of the shoe stepping into frame. Great work with the VO. The speeding car climax was very funny and looked great!

Improvements: I wanted to see some more of this hilarious character before his inevitable demise. Being an indiscriminate murderer is certainly enough for him to deserve it, but you could maybe give us a couple other reasons for fun. This was a great entry! Well done.

Positives: Very dark/noir and funny--the ending was unexpected but perfect...just sort of short-circuited the story which is what made it work well

Improvements: Should be a half cigar--kind of looks put on otherwise--but that may be what you were going for "the poser"
