  • 4/29 1:33 pm - Some decent storytelling here, nice use of shot variety and emotion building with the audio. The sound of the actors could be helped by filming with an additional audio source that is closer to them, even another phone recording a voice-over. Nice use of titles at the end. Keep up the good work.
  • 4/27 10:48 am - Successful - Nice lighting and camerawork. Good editing. Acting is fun. Some funny lines and delivery. Needs Work - It's unclear if this is supposed to be a trailer or a complete film. Also, the choice to put the guy with a beard in a cheerleader costume is confusing and not all that funny. If anything it makes this feel more amateur when the production value is otherwise very high.
  • 2/22 1:01 pm - Definitely a unique entry. Good job lighting your subjects in the jeep without making it look artificial.

Positives: Engaging spoof that pulls the viewer in Good entertainment value Good performances Good sound design

Improvements: This edit would be improved by dialing back the absurdity of some of the dialogue at the beginning and letting that unfold a bit so there's more of a slow reveal to the comedy and spoof nature of this video. The title at the end isn't fully paid off by the content of the film. There's nothing to connect to Main Street in the film, and there's no information around why he became a cow in particular. More detail to fill this in would help the edit be more cohesive.

Positives: What a delightful film. Loved the "why do you have that line?" I've always appreciated the fusion of comedy and horror, and this plays well with the horror tropes, embracing the comic twist. You really lean into it in some cases and I appreciated it. In my experience it is very challenging to film in the dark, as it can end up looking a bit grainy. That was not the case for this, and you did a really great job of using the limited light in a way that looked intentional and professional. Well done!

Improvements: Considering this is horror/comedy, and one of the characters transforms into a man-cow monster and the other undergoes the ultimate change (death) it would be inaccurate to say there were no character arcs. But I'd love to see a little more interplay between the two characters before the climactic conclusion. You really nailed that main trope with the couple in the car remotely parked. Overall, excellent work!

Positives: The guy playing the girlfriend was a good tool to establish this as a parody right off the bat. Funny because it's so outrageous.

Improvements: Well edited and scripted--well thought out. This had so many opportunities to go down a road that was goofy or contrived but never did. Nice job
