Judge 1

Positives: The newscast was quick paced - I liked that it moved The anchors seemed to have good chemistry and banter

Improvements: The video on the library vo seemed shaky. The photog should've used a tripod Three to know: I would've put a little more info on each bullet point. It's important for people to hear (you saying it) and see (more info) it.

Judge 2

Positives: -The anchors were so comfortable and had strong presence on camera. They read the lead ins to the packages extremely professional and kept a steady/not over excited donation in their voice. Great work! -Loved the idea of a feature on a local mask maker! Was a fun kickoff to the newscast. Maybe a little light for a lead, but it worked in this really well. And the transition segment to News Outside the Halls. That was a fun way to literally pick the viewer up and carry them out of the school through the halls.

Improvements: -I like the idea behind the intro where Tessa forced her way to the anchor desk, but maybe start on a closer up shot of Rebecca then fade to the two shot to reveal the other voice you heard start reading. A reveal of sorts to add an extra element to what I assume is an inside joke for Geneva High School students. -I heard some audio echo from the anchor mics and noticed some Audio inconsistency. Minor things, but in the package of the masks, maybe utilize more nat-sound pops (like the sound you started the package with) to make things continually interesting and moving. And turn down the nat sound a bit on the VO over the anchor reads. It got in the way a little bit with the actual anchor's voice.

Positives: -Good energy from anchors -Liked the opening music sequence -Talent had fun chemistry -The newscast included a good variety of shots and angles -The information presented was relevant to students, delivered clearly and in an easy to understand way -I like the news outside the halls segment! Very creative -Major props to live recording your newscast! That's a huge challenge

Improvements: -Audio editing is very difficult, but that could be improved in this newscast. In some stories the microphone wasn't used and the audio was difficult to hear as a viewer -I really liked that you used video during anchor reads, that helps keep the viewer engaged! I would've maybe liked to hear some of that info before the mask story. Longer stories off the top of a newscast can sometimes lose a viewer's attention.
