7 cameras, graphics, replay, PbP and commentator, TD, student director and four camera operators
Positives: Good awareness of the zone defense by the announcers. The crowd mix was strong. That's so important for live sports.
Improvements: The directing was jarring. My advice--and that of a number of coordinating producers--is to stay on camera one (the game camera) much more often. Cutting cameras in play is quite hard to follow for the audience. The announcers talked over each other some. It was hard for me, also, to tell who was play-by-play and who was color.
Positives: - Great camera work, especially by your hero/tight ISO cam to pick up the player who made the last basket. - Director did a nice job of cutting where appropriate and having angles ready to cut to.
Improvements: - Love that you have replays included! One small suggestion - try to avoid taking a replay of the camera angle you're already on. In this clip, after the basket is made consider cutting to your hero/tight ISO cam first, then wiping into your replay if it's going to be back on the game camera angle. - Announcers - watch getting too over the top on a basket. Enthusiasm is great, but remember that not every play is a game-winning buzzer-beater, so save your biggest calls for the moments that are!
Positives: Good variety of camera angles, but be sure to not overdo it. Overall, this entry had a good flow to it and the announcers painted a good picture of the game for the viewer.
Improvements: The excitement from one of the announcers appeared to "come out of nowhere" a little bit. While the commentary was great, both were a bit subdued, and then out of no where, we get the intensity. You don't want the intensity to be that sudden.
