Judge 1
Positives: - You did a great job of picking soundbites. I like the variety of short bites and longer bites. It really moves the story forward. And I like the bits of natural sound you used (use more!). - You also did a great job of shooting these interviews. The framing is great.
Improvements: - Running stories are really hard to shoot, but you need some variation of shots. For example, when she's getting up to the line before the race, zoom in closer on her. Then cut to the wide shot as it begins. You can also zoom in tight on feet running past. - Just two quick notes on the interviews. If you're using a lavalier mic, always try to hide the cable as best as possible. You can usually have the interview run it down their shirt. And then one of your interviews was a little dark. The background was cool, but the lack of light hurts it.
Judge 2
Positives: Great getting perspective with Maria, her coaches and other teammates. It really broadened your story and made it engaging to watch the whole time. You had a lot of great energy with your track. Keep that up.
Improvements: This would have been great to open with nats of the start of the race and cheering then say your first line about flying out of the box. The nats behind Mr. Leblanc are really high. Also what is his first name? His title is coach which is on the second line. Get his first name and ditch Mr. Maria was standing in front of a wall that said BOYS boys boys and all their sports. Put her in front of the GIRLS track logo that was way off in the right corner. Or do a tight shot. Not all interviews have to be wide frame.

Positives: -interviews shot and framed well -great storytelling, captured the essence of the story
Improvements: -would’ve been great to hear natural sound in between tracks. For instance, sound of fans cheering could’ve been used for the opening shot -Would’ve liked to see more close-up shots of the main runner. Too many wide shots
