  • 4/26 9:48 pm - KEEPERS: I appreciate the creativity involved in producing a piece like this during the pandemic when you only had access to zoom and simple visual elements. You did a commendable job of pulling this story together. It as well constructed and your narration was good glue for the piece. IMPROVEMENTS: Try to work on the audio quality for your narration. I realize that most of this was produced during the pandemic or was at least captured via zoom/Google Meet so that's going to be tough to get good audio. But the recording of the narration/documentarian should have been of better quality. Use of a lav or shot gun microphone would have given you a richer sound with less echo/tinny presence indicative of the zoom interviews. In terms of story, it's a compelling one but it's missing things tonally. Use of music underneath this piece would have helped break up the wall to wall interview sound bytes and narration. Taking breaths and cutting back on the constant soundbytes by using music and broll adds emotional heft and allows people to take a step back and absorb what they're learning. Use of these elements would have added to the documentary feel of the piece. Without them, this feels more like a long form news report and even more like a well-produced podcast.
  • 4/25 1:24 pm - You did a great job implementing your B-roll within your video in a creative way. The one thing that could have been better was your audio quality. Your vocal recording had a decent amount of echo to it. Throughout the video, it seemed to all be different as well between yourself, and your interviewees. This is a topic that is very impactful and I think you can add some background music to add more emotion to your audience. This at times also felt a tad bit more like a news segment instead of a documentary.
