  • 4/27 11:21 am - The camera shots throughout the video look great and there is a good pacing to the edit. The voiceover audio is clean and the steps are easy to follow.Text or graphics on screen would have helped to make an even more polished video. Overall, great job!
  • 4/26 9:10 am - You have a good overview of the many parts of this project. A good variety of shots. Music is not obtrusive, adds interest. This is a pretty intricate process, and while you do a good job of giving an overview, you are leaving out a lot of details or making generalizations. It depends on what your audience is looking for–details or just an overview.
  • 4/24 5:28 pm - Works Well - Smart idea to use shots of the supplies at the pet store to add shot variety. Overall your shots look great in what could have been a very basic video. Lots of helpful info in the script. Needs Work - A few distracting pauses in the voice-over that could have been re-recorded to make things smoother. There’s a lot of specific info that could appear as onscreen text (water temp, 75% water change, etc). Telling the viewer to do their own research about the fish felt out of place. Maybe make suggestions about types of fish that are easy for beginners, or suggest websites for info.

Positives: Good idea. Interesting topic. Lots of good details.

Improvements: Narrator spoke too quickly. Hard to understand all the details.

Positives: I like the use of the natural sound when pouring the gravel into the bowl, well done! I like the details that you provide in this video, because it helps to make sure that your viewer does a proper job of setting up their tank.

Improvements: The pop at :10 seconds comes in very loudly and is a little bit of a distraction. The music and your voice battle a little bit during this video. Try to lower your music a little bit so that you are even more understandable. Try to avoid so many pans. When you are shooting something try to show your viewer exactly what you want them to see. If you need to use a wide shot for all of the options for decoration then use it. Try to avoid a pan.
