- 2/25 2:34 pm - STORY: There just isn’t enough story here to succeed as a trailer. It looks like it was shot in 1 class period. You needed more - more scenes revealing who this character is, more scenes demonstrating what their issue is and how it makes life hard for them, more scenes to show the conflict coming to a climax. CAMERA: Your shots were basic, but not enough footage overall. Watch your focus. EDITING: The editing was fine for what you had, but there simply wasn’t enough material. LIGHTING: No evidence of any additional lighting used to enhance the film. AUDIO: Your audio mix is way off. The voice over is only coming out of the left channel and it is way too low in the mix. The heartbeat effect is fine, but it dominates the sound. Ambient music bed could have added more layers of effect. For your reference, the primary dialogue or voice over should be between -6 and -12 db on the VU meter, and your music bed should be between -18 and -24. In your case, the music is too loud in the mix.
