A snapshot of some live stream game coverage of Elgin Community College womens basketball by the high school production crew at South Elgin High School's Beacon Academy. Game recorded 2/10/22
Positives: Your analyst has a really good way about her. Great explanation of the press. Definitively says "THEY'RE IN THE WAY" to tell us what makes the press work. Nice cut to the subs while the announcers were talking about them.
Improvements: Good analysis from your color woman. She can take it to the next level beyond by giving a specific example of when that's happened to her. No need for the play-by-play announcer to give jersey numbers. We can see them.
Positives: - Good job by the announcers, especially with the analyst bringing her own personal playing experience to relate what the coach is conveying in the timeout. - Nice directing job to take hero shots after baskets and cut down to your handheld cameras at appropriate times - the cuts kept the coverage interesting and you made sure not to miss important action on the game camera, which is the most important thing!
Improvements: - Game camera can zoom in slightly once the action is within the 3-point line and closer. We don't need to see all the way to the halfcourt line.
Positives: Good analysis right off the top by the color commentator - bringing her expertise to the broadcast. Under the basket - any chance of seeing a little bit more than just the girl under the basket while she's waiting to throw it in?
Improvements: "Get some subs here...just a second...". Always be confident in your announcing. Not sure why you said "just a second" unless you were trying to see who was coming into the game. Wait until they come in and then announce the subs.
