  • 4/27 11:08 am - What I Loved: I love the shot variety and how you showcased the entire grocery store- you did a great job highlighting each section. Your b-roll lines up to your a-roll, and I love how many moving shots you had. The movement made me feel like I was in the store with you. Having so many people speak in this video also helped to set the theme that this is a "family owned" grocery store. Areas of Growth: Some of your interviewees are looking directly into the camera and some are not. I would have them look to the person asking the questions or make this consistent. Some of the interview shots are very close up. I would reserve a close shot like the ones you used for an interview that might seem more emotional. As your viewer, I really wanted to see more of the store behind them. I would capture a medium shot for these interviews to give your viewer another look at the store. Your text in the lower thirds for your interviews also looks very modern. Next time, I would design a text that is more similar to what you see in the Tishler Finer Foods logo featured at the end of your screen- it's light, fun, and gives that family feel! Try to make these match to create a consistent look in your commercial. Overall, this is a strong commercial with outstanding visuals and I hope you have shared it with this business!

Positives: Nice spot with likable, real people that feels like an authentic part of the community, and a place I'd like to support. Appreciate the sign off of the ad copy.

Improvements: Consider going closer for some of the shots for better appetite appeal - in produce or grab n go sections, for example. Be selective about shots with food - the thick slab of ham off slicer might not be the most appealing shot for consumers. Every choice counts in an ad.

Positives: Decent product shots Music worked

Improvements: Needed people in the store shots. Pacing was slow The employees chosen needed more coaching, very wooden Trite end tag

Positives: I like that you introduced actual employee's, through their voices you've shown the character of the place. The shots move well, and I think the camera work and edit hit the right notes, and show off a friendly, community business. Your lighting was impressive for shooting in a public location.

Improvements: The location sound is not the best, and the music is to loud, the distracting mix takes away from the piece. I think You could have shaved 7-10s off and had a tighter story. Some ideas worked better than others. I don't think you need to cut back to the employee talking about the meat counter. And you probably don't need the shot of the bananas. Everything could be tighter if the employees are introduced and then talk over the b roll a bit more. Well done over all.
