  • 4/20 1:20 pm - the side profile of the lead singer was distracting after a while. It should have been a head on shot; this band was spaced out for COVID, it would have been better to have individual tight shots on each member to highlight their skill and personality

Positives: -Nice job of following the action. When something was noticeable, there was a shot of it that followed. (close up of the singer, drummer, guitarist) -nice job opening and closing the performance with an establishing shot

Improvements: -I think the pacing was great and the sequences flowed. Just a suggestion -- maybe switch up the camera work and do a tight close up of hands on the drums or the guitar.

Judge 2

Positives: Great variety of camera angles and placement! All shots were fluid and steady no stuttering or shakiness.

Improvements: Directing overall was well! Some of the transitions seemed to be taking without motivation or early but not all of them! The last pull out shot looked awesome with the blackout and light leaks in the lens, but was transitioned to just a little early. The violinist who is one of the main soloists and really make this song what it is, didn't get much spotlight and could have had some more live shots taken of him.

Judge 3

Positives: - Good ISO shots of the lead singer taken at appropriate times. - Audio mix was clean.

Improvements: - Would have liked to see tighter shots on individual performers, especially the violin. On a reasonably well known song like this if you know where the instrument solos are going to be, you can have a camera operator ready to ISO it in advance to make sure you have enough time for the shot. - Similarly, when you have a song like this that's moving really fast, you can speed up your cuts and get more shots in to really match the pace of the music.
