  • 4/28 10:42 am - What I Loved: Shots were steady and well composed and the b-roll lined up to the a-roll script. I like how you showed an image of each food type as it was mentioned. The music was upbeat and engaging and the voice over was confident and friendly. Areas of Growth: The second shot of the restaurant was completely empty from customers. To me, this makes the place look unpopular. If filming again, I would try to get a shot in which all of the tables are filled. The food looks amazing, but what else sets this restaurant apart? To me, this seems like a standard fast food joint and I would love to know what else makes this place special! Do they have a signature dish? Is there something that you could share about the 40 year long history? Share with us what makes this place unique and this commercial will really stand out!

Positives: Clear communication and clear editing. Nice use of drift in edit. Edit very nicely paced, and script is straight to the point.

Improvements: Food could have been more appetizing - for example, shoot a whole pizza, fresher chicken or onion rings after frying. Consider some macro shots of food to drive appetite appeal. Layering in ambient sound can be a nice way to drive appetite appeal in food advertising and establish the venue as welcoming - the whoosh of a wood fire oven, crackling oil, the warm sound of people enjoying the atmosphere.

Positives: Good food shots Solid copy

Improvements: Overall the spot was bland, not bad but bland Perhaps different exterior shots

Positives: I thought you did an excellent job shooting food in a public space. The video seems very professional and the shots are interesting and informative.

Improvements: I know how hard it can be to film in a public place. I would recommend color balancing the footage so it feels more like it was shot in one space. The mechanics are very good, but I'd like to see more polish. It comes off as a news cast rather than a commercial. Finally, I'd like to know why people go to this establishment, what makes it special?
