  • 4/27 10:48 am - Good demonstration. There are a good variety of camera shots throughout. Text on-screen illustrating the directions would help to carry the video. The audio levels are a bit off. You can't really hear the background music and the audio from the host is a bit hollow. Overall, great job!
  • 4/26 9:05 am - Good variety of shots! Why not give actual amounts, especially of the cinnamon and sugar, since you say it is so important to get the right amount? Some audio imbalances. Music is a bit downbeat. Directions could at times be more specific–”toppings”--like what?
  • 4/24 5:22 pm - Works Well - Lots of clear visuals to show each step. Interesting variety of shots. Host creates a fun mood. Needs Well - Audio is inconsistent as it changes between echoey camera audio and clean voice-over. Color temperature varies from shot to shot. There are two distracting edits where the host gets cut off in the beginning (“once you crack you eggs”) and the end (“mmm mmm mmm”).

Positives: Great enthusiasm. Good steps - they appear easy to follow.

Improvements: It was obvious where you had to add a VO to your video. Had you worn a wireless mic, the difference between the mic might not have been so drastic. Consider adding text to show your viewers the recipe. At :12, you could hear a "click" on the audio track - delete that. You upcut yourself a little bit at :15 when you said "once you crack...". When editing, make sure you're not cutting off the beginning of a sentence. The audio was cut off at the end with the "mmmm".

Positives: I like the wide variety of camera angles which help put the viewer in the process and keep the video moving. I like the lighting in the kitchen. I do like the overhead shots When you do this for cooking demonstrations it helps out the process. Overall good job with this project.

Improvements: Be careful when shooting in a kitchen because it tends to echo. Look to make sure you have a mic right on the subject. It is also tough when you do the voice-over and then goes back to voice in the kitchen. Try to add more natural sound to you video because it will make it even more engaging.
