Social media promotion for the Girls' Bowling team.
Positives: Clever using the mascot and a few different people from the team. Like that you filmed on location.
Improvements: The spinning section was a little long and lacked a "pop" at the end. Also, inform people about the event a little sooner in the video. Or at least a way to let people know what they are watching a video about.
Positives: Switching to different student-athletes while maintaining a single camera shot was the perfect use of the type of camera tricks that make videos go viral on TicTok. So were zooming into the mascot’s hat and then zooming out to reveal him in the bowling alley and the transition to the student-athletes bowling. Great camera technique, and very impressive use of this social media platform. The message was very clear -- supporting girls' bowling is a lot of fun.
Improvements: The technique of switching out the student-athletes while maintaining a single camera shot could have benefited from better differentiating between the bowlers. It took me a second viewing to confirm the student-athletes were different. Adding a graphic with their names or different clothing would have helped make the switch-outs more noticeable. While you included the natural sound of the student-athletes bowl at the end, more natural sound would’ve been more engaging. Perhaps the students clapping.
Positives: Love the transitions between shots and using the hat to go from one location to another. Great displaying what the promotion is about with bowler at the bowling alley.
Improvements: The mascot and student bowler circling around camera felt a little too long. I would have only gone across once instead of two times. The blurry image is off a little to show the writing from the shot of the bowlers throwing the ball. I would have blurred it only once the writing appears on screen.
