A young film maker re-visits, critiques and regrets her film making choices.
Positives: Appreciate that there's a basic concept here that makes some sense and ties the homage vignettes together. There are some funny bits - James Bond drinking a martini in a soda cup with a straw is comedic - the dinosaur suit - using door with windows in a shining. I'd push to make them more absurd and arcane in the humor, and then have the dailies review vignettes be more comedic as to why the clips aren't right yet.
Improvements: Could have used more clarity on who's being self-critiqued - the director, the actress, the screen writer? Over dubbing different dialogue on the over-the-shoulder daily shots didn't work - I'd reshoot that. Maybe a bit of time rehearsing or some more takes to get the performances more dialed in and confident.
Positives: I liked the variety of movie scenes that were re-created and were somewhat clear what the scenes were. The piece was edited well and I like the use of the graphics and 'Star Warz" remake.
Improvements: It appeared that everything seemed to be lit room/natural lighting and didn't necessarily fit the mood of the scene. Audio of dialogue was really low and sometimes drowned out by the music score.
Positives: Interesting idea and execution. Enjoyed how you incorporated several film genres into your story and had fun with all of the ideas was coming up with.
Improvements: It was distracting that the conversations while reviewing the tapes were clearly voiced over especially when the actors heads were turned towards the camera and you could see that the lips didn't lineup to what was being said.
