  • 3/24 12:28 pm - Works well - Funny concept. Good voice-over. Good performance from lead actor. Needs work - The tone is inconsistent throughout. Even though this is clearly fake, the scenarios felt staged within the world of the documentary. The ending was very abrupt.
  • 3/2 12:06 pm - Really dark about a minute and a half in. I like the voice of the narrator and good delivery, and I liked the premise that he could hear the VO, but the ending felt too abrupt.
  • 2/21 1:58 pm - Camera: some of the camera work was decent, but it seemed like you were indecisive. If you were going for the “nature documentary” vibe, then you should have emulated that look consistently. But instead, you switched back and forth from the nature doc to some kind of mockumentary camera style. Consistency matters. Lighting: lighting is essential, even when you want a scene to appear dark. The scene where he’s watching Star Wars is too dark, even if your intent was for him to be watching it in a dark room. Sound: the voice over is the best part of this film, as the narrator (though meta) interacts with Sam. The exterior scene with Sam and Hailey sounded ROUGH…way too much wind noise. Would have been better as an awkwardly silent scene with the narrator describing everything and a music bed. Editing: editing pace was okay Story: It started out very promising, but the story didn’t really go anywhere. Shots and scenes were redundant for the first minute. The premise was cool, but the execution and conclusion didn’t bring the laughs as much as I’d hoped.
