The IHSA is considering cutting Boys Gymnastics as an officially recognized state sport due to the low amount of schools that have teams. We decided to look at the implications if our school's team was relegated.

- 4/27 7:53 am - Nice topic. Good camera composition and b-roll. I liked that you had audio in your b-roll and the level was good. Some of your audio is only coming out of the right channel. The reporter sounds needs to speak up. At some points it sounds like he is going to tell us a secret and it is hard to hear him.
- 3/7 12:05 am - Really liked the way this story was put together- the voice track seemed a bit rushed; slow down a bit and really process what you are saying. Do not be afraid to be yourself- it adds your personality into the story!

Judge 1
Positives: - This is an outstanding package. The natural sound is great and helps the viewer understand your story more by taking us there. - You found a way to include a lot of viewpoints, and you did so in a way that was not repetitive. I know professional reporters that struggle with this at times. Seriously, well done!
Improvements: - The interviews are a little dark. Not sure what you have for lights -- cause I think you did the right thing in filming them in the gym -- but try to find a way to make your subjects brighter next time. - Nitpicking -- just a bit more shot variety is all this really needs.

Positives: I like how you started with nats. It was attention grabbing. I like how you covered the sots with video, keeping the audience attention while also hearing from your interviewees. I like how you kept good nats under the video. Life isn't silent. Great variety of shots and interviews
Improvements: Be mindful of your lighting on interviews. The first sot with the coach was a bit dark. Work on the energy you have in your voice while tracking. You sound very bored and uninterested. Its okay to retrack a few times.

Positives: Great use of natural sound to drive the piece Video sequences were creative and different... it added character to the story.
Improvements: Interview subjects are a little dark. Needed lighting I would've liked to see a reporter stand-up to show presence in the piece
