4/27 11:31 pm - The open looks great here and is visually interesting. The backlighting on that main set it a little tough. The use of light is nice, but it's maybe a bit hot. The toss to the first story should maybe have a little more info. This story does a great job of matching video to what the soundbites say. The anchor intros are almost not necessary as they are so short and don't really give connectivity to the show. The Oracle story is interesting and creative. The takeaway is very capable and interesting stories, make the anchor more a piece of the show, the silly paper throwing at the end doesn't seem necessary.
4/27 11:27 pm - Good opening to the show. Consider tightening your shot on the anchor. Lots of negative space and you can create more of a connection to your anchor but closing in a little. Consider using a teleprompter for anchor reads. All packages are interesting and clean. Consider a branding of the show. Use the same LTs, graphics, looks, etc to create unity throughout the show. This is a subjective question for all newscasts but how do you utilize your anchor(s)? Are they just simply there to introduce packages or are they part of the storytelling process? This is what initially creates viewer engagement to packages.
3/3 2:54 pm - Nice opening featuring lots of stuff from around your school. Anchor seems to be looking down at her notes- no teleprompter? Cue cards? Studio shot looks lost- the girl at the desk is not framed to give her the best look. Add graphics and a better camera angle. Homecoming segment looks and sounds great- audio is consistent and b-roll is great. Anchor's role needs to be more important. She is basically giving us a short sentence as a transition to the next segment. Not real engaging. Newspaper story is well done. Good b-roll and interviews. Play segment looks good too. The strength of the show is the segments for sure, butalmost too much. Your anchor needs more presence in a news program, not simply to quickly introduce segments. She needs to be reading some news herself, and using more informational transitions into each segment. The transitions were very basic- ass some info and writing to draw the audience in. You've got a good base for the show (the segments) now work on creating a more "show-like" atmosphere.
