- 4/27 10:09 am - The audio mix was great. You always want to keep headroom in mind give the performer some room to move so you can keep them in frame and slowly correct for their movement. Sticking to one style of Transition (cuts or fades) is nice for consistency. Graphics can improve the look of a broadcast if they are available.
- 4/27 7:42 am - Critique primarily for director:
0:09 Include entire human body in wide shots; even feet.
0:18 The 180-degree Line is crossed. All cameras should be on one side of The Line or the other.
And since she’s holding the mic with right hand, all cameras should be positioned on the right side of The Line so the mic doesn’t block her face on tight shots.
Or position minimum number of cameras on both sides of The Line & only use the side that conforms to each performance.
0:28 Too much head room; follow movement better.
1:06 Top of head cut off.
1:33 Top of head cut off.
2:06 Awkward cut to wide shot when we had already established a slow mood with dissolves between shots. Consistently use dissolves or cuts.
2:45 Finish dissolve quicker.
Good audio.
Hoped for at least one crowd/applause shot.
- 4/13 10:14 am - Thank you for your entry and sharing your creation with us. I very much enjoyed viewing your submission. Just a few observations. If you have the ability to insert graphics / lower thirds please do so. Good use of dissolves, but the timing lagged at times. Audio was nicely mixed. Thank you again for entering.
Judge 1
Positives: -Great job smoothly following the singer without abrupt movement
-Nice job using a 2 shot to add variety
Improvements: -It's beneficial to open the shot with the singer and guitarist so we can see it's a duo and the music is not an instrumental
-Adding more shots of the guitarist and close ups is a good way to add creativity
Judge 2
Positives: Good job with the use of the slow dissolves to match the pacing of the music. Nice use of camera angles to get different views of the performers.
Improvements: You had a very nice slow dissolve at the end that super-imposed the wide shot and close up of the singer and that worked nicely, however try to avoid dissolving on similar shots like the one of close up of singer to close up of singer both centered in frame. Some of the shots were on for a little to long and lost it's visual interest. A few close up shots of the guitarist would also keep things interesting and blend together.

Positives: - Really liked the use of the cross-dissolve between shots of the singer. When you only have one subject on stage and need to see her from multiple angles that's a great tool to avoid any odd looking cuts.
- Cameras were framed well to include the subject at all times.
Improvements: - Sound was muddled and at times a bit overmodulated.
- Would have liked to have had at least one closer shot of the guitarist at some point during the performance.
