An informal talk show filmed in the comforts of home.
Positives: Great camera work, I appreciate how you cut between establishing shots and close ups. Beautiful composition- your subjects really pop against the purple hues of the background. Overall a very warm and inviting tone that looks very professional.
Improvements: Information could be conveyed in a more applicable way. I'd love to hear about how younger students can get involved, what the benefits of these skills are, etc.
Positives: A clean talk show - no errors in cameras or audio levels. Good composition. Very friendly vibe.
Improvements: It needed something to be more engaging. Work on the audio - hard to do when out of the studio, but no impossible.
Positives: Your genuine friendship really shines through here! It is clear you two are comfortable with each other and have a great history. You held eye contact with each other and I like that Nia uses her hands while she speaks rather than just having them in her lap. I enjoyed the cutting between 2-shots and 1-shots and the great use of b-roll to "show rather than tell." Pretty good lighting and a visual backdrop for a home studio. It seems like you both have the dedication to work hard and succeed. Keep going!
Improvements: I know it is a home studio so lighting is hard to get down, but Nia wasn't as evenly lit as Myles. Watch filler language such as "like" and "um", which can be hard to do since we talk like that in everyday life. If you are getting a thought together, it's okay to pause rather than feeling like you have to fill the brief silence.
