Segment of a broadcast of Waubonsie Valley's Prism concert
Positives: -Nice variety of shots with the choir and the musicians and director -The wide shot looked great with the background and it was effective to end with that shot
Improvements: -I would open the performance with a wide shot of the entire choir to set the scene with how many people there are, who is there ect. -Try not to hold shots for too long -- 25 seconds is a bit long for one shot and it can bore the viewer
Positives: Nice use of a slow dissolve to match the pacing and slowness of the song. Good job highlighting not just the student's but also seeing the conductor and musicians.
Improvements: The pacing for this was a little slow. There are a lot of student singers in this ensemble and so there's plenty of time to see them all other than static shots of small groups that stayed on for too long. Cameras motions such as a pan across the student group and even using some slow zoom-ins can help add a lot of visual interest rather than no movement at all.
Positives: - Sound was well mixed, really appreciate that we could easily hear the instruments in addition to the vocalists.
Improvements: - Needed a quicker pace to the cuts here. There are a lot of performers on stage, so getting to more camera shots would help to show them all throughout the performance. - Would have liked some dynamic movement on the cameras - a wide stage of performers is a great opportunity to have a camera slowly pan across so we see some movement and lots of different faces.
