School promotion video to inform viewers about the upcoming theatre production of "The Crucible".
Positives: black and white was effective juxtaposition of characters kept viewer interest
Improvements: lighting was too bright in some spots and too dark in others sound was unbalanced and "hot" in certain spots
Positives: Great choice of music with the video. I like the use of lighting in the video, as it adds to the darkness of the production Strong framing on the talent of this video so as to not put them all in the middle of the screen. I like the use of graphics.
Improvements: Watch for the audio. There are times when it is a little distorted and takes away from the video.
Positives: The range of angles and lighting were very expressive and well done. I was also impressed with the text on the screen and how it worked perfectly with the shot angles.
Improvements: It's essential to keep in mind that not all viewers may have seen and/or read The Crucible and this advertisement could come across as confusing. It's important to always think your audience knows nothing. As for the sound design, a few tweaks could be made by adjusting the volume levels in the editing process to help to eliminate any red-level audio or recording new audio.
