4/25 1:57 pm - PROS - Lots of energy and excitement created with your visual storytelling. Your compositions and ability to capture the action in a point and shoot environment is strong. CONS - This reel is very limiting in its ability to showcase all of the skills outlined in the rubric. The environment did not extend beyond one lighting condition. The framerate choice is not wrong, pre se, although the high frame rate (60fps?) felt distracting from the onscreen action. There was a fair amount of pixelating during the fast cuts and left the viewer feeling like the compression could have been dialed in a bit more. I appreciate the hard :30 promo, but the is an additional :19s of black video that wasn't trimmed off the tails. You are allowed to enter any type of work sample into this category but the limited scope of this promo made it feel out of place.
4/25 12:22 pm - Some solid shooting, but not sure you show off your DP chops here. Too much of a focus on editing. Also - some shots that are still shots should be on a tripod in order to be less shaky... Is this the best category for this piece?
4/17 4:55 pm - This could be better in the school promo category, not only for how short it is, but it doesn't demonstrate the expected use of light and composition for this category. The high frame rate combined with what looks like autofocus is distracting.
