- 4/27 8:47 am - Interesting conversation and doing it on location gave us a sense of the place. Host is prepared and engaged. I thought sound was appropriate in the background because that is what this studio does.
- 4/26 1:38 pm - This was a lot of fun and I commend you on getting out into the community to highlight a fantastic business.
PROS: Great production value with the switching, sound design, and titles. Love the insight into this company as you definitely showed all aspects of the company. Also, you have quality interview questions. CONS: The rule of third shot on the interviewee is a bit too centered for my tastes and leaves too much headroom. Also, both one-shots show shadows on the talent’s face, that can be fixed with some lighting assistance. Finally, I would work on the start of the interview, starting with a stronger introduction that jumps into the introduction of the talent and the topic. Overall, great job!
- 4/16 1:19 pm - Love how this video focuses on local businesses! Careful about reflections in the background - you want to make sure it’s not distracting to what the viewer should be focusing on. When inserting b-roll into your talk show, try to string a few shots together. When it’s just one shot, sometimes it can have a feeling of “I had to insert this here to cover up an edit”. Make sure the shot fits and have multiple shots together. Great interaction between host and guest - nice job capturing the reactions, which were genuine. Love the question about how a high school student can get involved with the audio studio - definitely helps relate this show back to your viewers. Slow down with your edits of your b-roll. Pacing is important to pay attention to.

Positives: Excellent b-roll and visual components, very visually dynamic.
Ash was a very authentic and engaging interviewer.
Improvements: Lighting was a little harsh.

Positives: Great use of the 2-shot and the 1-shot camera - kept it visually interesting. Good questions by the host - the interview flowed naturally.
Improvements: Watch the lighting - bring portable lights with you to be sure the shadows from the interior lighting aren't too harsh.

Positives: Good work! I enjoyed the background music, it kept the interview upbeat and wasn't too distracting. I also liked that you cut between the 2-shot and 1-shots as well as b-roll.
It is clear Ash was prepared for this interview and asked good questions, allowed the conversation to flow and didn't just stick to the script. It was great you were able to shoot this at Jamie's business rather than on a set somewhere.
Improvements: There was a bit of a shadow on Jamie. You can get creative with lighting without breaking the bank. Utilize natural light from a window, set up your phone flashlight, etc.
I would have liked more b-roll with people actually in the shot working rather than an empty sound booth or editing station.
The intro to the interview could use a little more structure, but Ash was much more comfortable by the end of the interview which also made Jamie more comfortable.
