- 4/25 9:44 am - Bold use of 4:3 aspect ratio and compelling minimalistic compositions. However, the highly "treated" video is distracting from the raw shots required in this category - it reflects more concern with "post." Some of the color grading seems either too heightened or saturated or not calibrated carefully enough. You would be better served creating a traditional reel edited from a variety of projects that showcase strong lighting and shooting skills.
- 4/19 2:39 pm - PROS - Very unique style and structure to your submission. The color process produced some very rich saturation, especially in chapter 1. Chapter 2's blue hue is very complimentary of the setting. CONS - The exposure was inconsistent throughout; the shot at 0:22 overexposed the direct sunlight hit on the white coat and the sequence beginning at 0:59 had a lot of underexposure, especially the polaroid still in this sequence. Intended or not, these quirks distract the viewer and take away from the story unfolding on-screen. You always want your cinematography to compliment and enhance the story, not necessarily take center stage and be the story.
