  • 4/27 11:53 pm - Nice opening to the show. Right out of the gate, work on delivery. From anchoring to package VOs, use your voice(s) to engage the viewer. Tighten up the composition of your anchor to create more of a connection to the viewer. Introduce your storytellers (anchors, package talent) early in their pieces, again, to create a connection to the audience. Transition to golf package has an odd audio/video transition. Story is very interesting. Chip challenge has a total YouTube or social media vibe. It's entertaining. Does it fit a newscast? I suppose that depends on your philosophy and ultimately, your branding.
  • 4/27 11:36 pm - The tease here works well and the open is very strong. The OTS seems a little boring. Maybe add some text or have video in the box. The anchor delivers it well and gives some good info in the pitch. The photo story is very strong and does show an interesting take on a student. Maybe do this interview at the golf course since you have broll from the course. The music under the highlights doesn't seem to fit. As the anchor does school announcements, there is a lot of text on the screen at a time and some of it is hard to read. Promo video probably doesn't belong in a newscast. Don't completely understand what happens in the last 3 minutes here and why it is in a newscast. Funny, but not sure why it is here.
  • 3/3 3:06 pm - Cool opening that features cool shots of the school. Anchor seems a bit stiff and unrehearsed. Reading is slow and stuttered at times. Practice and be more familiar with the script. Photography story is a nice story- a bit odd that we don't see a reporter until the END of the segment. The voice sounds different than the voice-over because of the mics and is a strange way to end a segment. His words actually get cut off at the end. It wasn't until the golf story that I finally found out what school is doing this show- it was not mentioned clearly anywhere else! Watch the jump cuts in the interview of the golf story- use B-roll to cover that up. Audio in the golf story is inconsistent- watch the levels and keep them the same throughout. Chip challenge was entertaining! Not sure how news-worthy it was, but entertaining nonetheless. Audio got really loud at times. Segment ended very abruptly. Overall, the show had some newsworthy and entertaining segments. Really need to polish up on the anchoring- anchor should be able to read more clearly and engage the audience.
