4/27 8:59 pm - Tighten up the framing at the beginning. Wait until the shot is set before transition. There are some cuts to similar shots, try to have something different to switch to, even if it's a wide shot for safety. Camera ops could tighten up the drag a little to get smoother movements. The sound is good, could use some room sound to make it feel live.
4/27 8:23 am - Critique primarily for director:
0:00 - Framed too wide; half of the frame is black.
Cutting from extreme wide to extreme tight is awkward; needs a medium trans. shot.
0:12 - Wait until shot is set before cutting.
0:33 - This shot is framed the same as previous; always be cutting between any combination of wide, medium, tight.
0:38 - Allow motion to complete before cutting.
0:42 - Shot not centered to the cyc.
I admire the director’s willingness to be risky & use as many tight shots as possible,
but it can be challenging - especially when the drag on both the tilt & pan seem too loose.
4/13 9:09 pm - Thank you for your entry and sharing your creation with us. I very much enjoyed viewing your submission. Just a few observations. Framing at times could use a bit of improvement. Good camera movement overall. Wide shot tended to linger too long. Some tight shots of individuals / small group would add to production. Good audio. I recognize we only have a few minute clip, but a graphic / lower third could help add performance detail. Again, enjoyed viewing your submission and thank you again for entering!
