- 4/4 4:26 pm - Keepers: Very nice broll compositions and sequencing of this documentary. There is a lot to like here. The audio is really nice and clean for all of the interviews. The consistency is really great. I like that you mixed in more formal interviews with more "reality moments with natural sound from the broll. That helps to help the viewer immerse themselves in the story. Improvements: The beginning broll shots of the documentary are cool, but they lack context. If you're going to go this route, consider adding in a brief title card prior to the first interview. Title it, "Northwood 8th Graders Travel to the Dominican," or something similar. At some points, the broll went on a bit too long over some of the speakers. At certain points, I wasn't sure who was talking and that got a bit confusing in points. consider shortening the documentary just a bit. I think this would have been better at 4 minutes. There were some redundant moments in this that could have been lifted. In terms of the music, use more than one song. This song quickly got redundant and distracting. Music influences mood and helps to drive the emotion of your story. So instead of 1 song, use 3 and sequence them according to your story points. A second song could have been used with a more serious tone when describing the hardships women in the DR experience. Then another more positive song as the woman discusses the lessons the students learned. Overall, this was a strong piece. Keep working and producing stories!
